Historic Austin music venue that Johnny Holmes opened on Victory over Japan Day as a restaurant and bar for Black soldiers returning from WWII. The club was on the Chitlin' Circuit, hosting acts such as Bobby Bland and Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. Now run as Victory East, it serves southern food and hosts blues, jazz and urban contemporary entertainment.
