WVBR is a student-operated station run by the Cornell Media Guild, a non-profit student organization independent of Cornell University. Student DJs program an alternative-rock format branded 'Ithaca's Alternative,' serving a seven-county region of central New York. The station also serves as a training ground for aspiring media professionals.
