Acik Radyo is an independent, volunteer-run Istanbul station where all programs are made by listeners, spanning jazz, rock, world, electronic, classical and folk music alongside culture and current-affairs talk. Broadcast periods run in four-month cycles, and prospective programmers submit a proposal describing their show's theme, genre and featured artists at least six weeks ahead. It is a long-running freeform tastemaker open to new music voices.
