Kobalt Music Group is an independent, technology-driven music rights and publishing administration company founded in 2000 by Willard Ahdritz, with major operations in New York and London. Rather than owning copyrights in the traditional major-publisher model, Kobalt focuses on global administration, royalty collection (including its AMRA digital collection arm) and creative services for tens of thousands of songwriters and publishers. Its roster has included writers and artists such as Max Martin, Bob Dylan's catalog interests, Paul McCartney administration, Dave Grohl and Disclosure, and it is regularly credited on a large share of the US/UK top 100. In March 2026, Primary Wave agreed to acquire Kobalt, with the company set to continue as a stand-alone entity under CEO Laurent Hubert.
