The Alchemist (Alan Maman) is an American hip-hop producer, DJ and rapper widely regarded as one of the most influential beatmakers in underground and modern rap, known for his dusty, sample-heavy production style. He runs the label ALC Records and first gained recognition for his work with Dilated Peoples and Mobb Deep, including the latter's 1999 single 'The Realest.' His frequent collaborators include Action Bronson, Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marciano, Boldy James, Earl Sweatshirt, Curren$y and the Griselda roster.
