ZYX Music is a German record label and music distributor founded in 1971 by Bernhard Mikulski and headquartered in Merenberg, Germany. It became one of Germany's most successful labels of the 1980s and 1990s, with Mikulski widely credited for coining the term 'Italo disco' to describe the synth-driven Italian dance sound it championed. Beyond Italo disco, the company spans dance, techno, house, schlager and reissue catalogs, operating its own online store, distribution arm and several imprints (such as Golden Core Records). It remains active today, best known for its extensive ongoing 'ZYX Italo Disco Collection' series.
