Wax Trax! Records is a legendary Chicago independent label (and former record store) that became the defining American outlet for industrial and electronic-body music in the 1980s and early '90s. Founded by Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher, it released and broke acts like Ministry, KMFDM, Front 242, Front Line Assembly, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and Coil. Sold to TVT in 1992 and shuttered around 2001, it was revived in 2014 by Julia Nash and continues reissuing its catalog; the original storefront was named a Chicago landmark in 2025.
