VHF Records is a long-running American experimental label founded in 1991 by Bill Kellum in the Washington, DC suburb of Fairfax, Virginia, originally to issue singles by his own band Rake and friends Wingtip Sloat. It grew into a respected home for psychedelic, drone, free-improv, shoegaze and stringband music from around the world, with a deep catalog spanning Flying Saucer Attack, Skullflower, Roy Montgomery, Pelt, Jack Rose, Vibracathedral Orchestra and Richard Youngs. Still active and self-described tongue-in-cheek as 'the Greatest Record Label in the World,' it remains a curatorial labor of love.
