Ultimae Records is a Lyon, France-based label founded in 1999 by Vincent Villuis (Aes Dana) and Sandrine Gryson, its name derived from the Latin "Ultimae Terrae" (the furthest places) to evoke a theme of sonic exploration. Specializing in ambient, downtempo, psybient and chillout/trance, it has grown to include the Ultimae mastering studio plus a record shop and distribution arm. Its roster features Aes Dana, Solar Fields, Cell, Asura, H.U.V.A. Network and Sync24, and the label remains active.
