Tigerbeat6 is a fiercely DIY, mostly-electronic independent label launched around 2000-2001 by Kid606 (Miguel Depedro) and run with a rotating cast of friends, splitting its base between California (San Francisco) and Berlin. Its catalog is a chaotic playground of bedroom-made experimental electronics spanning IDM, glitch, abrasive noisecore, breakcore, geeky electronica-leaning hip-hop and folktronica, with every catalog number cheekily prefixed 'MEOW' in a nod to the founder's cat obsession. The roster has included Kid606 himself plus Cex, Dat Politics, Blevin Blectum, Black Dice, Merzbow, Max Tundra, Mochipet, Drop The Lime and Dead Fader, among others. It is now largely dormant: its original domain (tigerbeat6.com) has lapsed and been taken over by an unrelated gambling/spam site, so its surviving official presence is on SoundCloud and Discogs.
