Tempa is a pioneering London label founded in 2000 by Neil Jolliffe and run via Ammunition Promotions out of the Truman Brewery in East London. It was central to the birth of dubstep (Jolliffe is credited with popularizing the term), with longtime A&R from DJ Youngsta. Its catalog reads like a dubstep canon — Skream, Benga, Loefah, Coki, Kode9, Hatcha, J:Kenzo — and the label remains active, more recently releasing artists such as Main Phase, Introspekt, K-LONE and Carré.
