SPV GmbH (Schallplatten Produktion und Vertrieb) is a German independent label and distributor founded in 1984 in Hanover, long one of the largest independent distributors worldwide and home to metal/rock sub-labels including Steamhammer, Long Branch Records, Oblivion and Synthetic Symphony. Following a merger of its distribution arm, the spv.de domain now redirects to OPEN (opendistribution.eu), the physical-distribution joint venture, while the SPV/Steamhammer label catalog continues. It remains an active operation based in Hanover, Germany.
