Southern Fried Records is the London-based independent dance label founded in 1994 by Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, as an outlet for music considered too left-of-centre for the majors. It became a touchstone of UK house, electro, breaks and big-beat culture, releasing work by Cook himself (often as Mighty Dub Katz), Armand Van Helden, Crookers, The Black Ghosts and The 2 Bears. The label remains active, continuing to put out house and electronic dance from established and emerging producers such as SHEE, DJ Streaks and Gina Breeze.
