Slumberland Records is a long-running American independent label, founded in Washington, D.C. in 1989 and now based in the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland, California). With its self-described motto of 'keeping it foolish since 1989,' it is a cornerstone of the indiepop world, releasing jangly, melodic guitar pop alongside shoegaze, dreampop, twee, and lo-fi indie rock. Its catalog spans foundational acts like Black Tambourine, Velocity Girl, The Aislers Set, and The Softies through contemporary signings such as The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Tony Molina, The Umbrellas, Chime School, and Jeanines. Still very much active, the label distributes through Bandcamp and major streaming platforms while maintaining a strong vinyl presence.
