Raw Tapes is the Tel Aviv label that grew out of a beat makers cooperative in 2008 and now has more than ninety albums behind it. The house sound sits where hip hop, soul and jazz meet, and the roster reads like a map of the city's players: Buttering Trio, Amir Bresler, Sol Monk, Eyal Talmudi, Nitai Hershkovits and singer songwriter Shir Frum. They still put out records at a steady clip, sell them direct in shekels from their own shop, and press vinyl and cassettes alongside digital.
