New World Records is a not-for-profit American label established in 1975 with a Rockefeller Foundation grant and run under Anthology of Recorded Music, Inc., now based in Albany, NY. Its enduring mission is to document and disseminate American music neglected by commercial labels — chiefly contemporary classical, experimental, electronic/computer music and cross-cultural composition — selected purely on artistic merit. Its catalog spans composers such as Harry Partch, Julius Eastman, Julius Hemphill, James Newton, Lukas Ligeti and Robert Morris.
