Nation Records is an independent London/Bradford-rooted UK label founded in the late 1980s by Aki Nawaz and Kath Canoville, born from the punk scene and dedicated to fusing Western dance and electronic music with Asian, Arabic, African and global sounds. It self-describes its output as 'creative, innovative, anarchic global punk,' spanning worldbeat, electronica, drum and bass, hip-hop and South Asian crossover. The label is best known for launching Transglobal Underground, Asian Dub Foundation, Fun-Da-Mental, Natacha Atlas and Loop Guru, and remains active with an ongoing Bandcamp and social presence.
