n5MD ("Emotional Experiments in Music") is an American independent label based in Oakland, California, founded by Mike Cadoo in 2000 — originally as a MiniDisc-only imprint before moving to CD and vinyl. It curates emotive, atmospheric work spanning electronica, IDM, ambient, post-rock and post-classical, with well over 100 releases to date and worldwide distribution via Redeye. Its deep roster includes Arovane, Proem, bvdub, Ocoeur, Winterlight, port-royal, worriedaboutsatan, Hollie Kenniff and Lights Out Asia.
