Metropolis Records is a long-running American label founded in Philadelphia in 1993 by Dave Heckman, billing itself as a premier home for electro and industrial music. Its catalog centers on electro-industrial, EBM, synthpop/futurepop, darkwave and gothic acts but reaches across the broader dark-alternative spectrum, and the company also operates as a distributor and mail-order store for the post-industrial scene. The roster and catalog include marquee names like KMFDM, Front Line Assembly, Peter Murphy, Bauhaus, Assemblage 23, The Birthday Massacre, She Past Away, PIG, and Icon of Coil.
