Founded in 1996 in North London by Tarik Nashnush out of the Pure Groove record shop, Locked On is the UK garage imprint that helped define the genre's golden era and operates as a subsidiary of XL Recordings. Its roughly 300-track catalogue stacked the record bags of British dance music, spanning 2-step anthems and 4/4 floor-fillers from Dem 2, Artful Dodger and Zed Bias to the chart-topping breakthrough of The Streets. The label has stayed active into its 25th-anniversary years, releasing a new wave of UKG artists alongside its classic catalogue.
