Saddle Creek is a respected independent record label founded in Omaha, Nebraska in 1993, originally built around eastern Nebraska's indie-rock scene and the artists in Conor Oberst's orbit. It made its name releasing emotionally charged indie rock, emo, and folk, and is closely associated with acts like Bright Eyes, Cursive, and The Faint. Known for artist-friendly practices and creative freedom, it has grown into an internationally recognized imprint with staff in Omaha, Asheville, Los Angeles, and New York, and remains active with a contemporary indie roster including Indigo De Souza and Hop Along.
