Jarring Effects is an independent label and creative collective based in Lyon, France, founded in 1995. Self-styled as an 'audioactiviste' label, it has championed a genre-spanning aesthetic across dub, electro, hip hop, techno and world/global sounds, and is recognized as a pillar of the French dub scene. Historically associated with acts like High Tone, Brain Damage and Interlope, its current roster includes Zar Electrik, UZUL, Senbeï, Pouvoir Magique, Les Mamans du Congo & Rrobin, Awori and Zentone. The label is active and operates several subsidiary entities.
