Isadora Records is a small Canadian independent label founded in 1999 by singer-songwriter Hawksley Workman to release his own debut, For Him and the Girls. The name comes from a Workman publicity conceit involving love letters to a fictional muse named Isadora, later collected in the book Hawksley Burns for Isadora. Operating out of the Toronto area alongside an artist-management arm, the label is best known for launching Serena Ryder's 2005 debut Unlikely Emergency, which Workman produced, and over the years its releases have been carried by major distributors including Universal and Warner in Canada.
