Hellmistress Records is an independent New Jersey label and online record store launched in 2017, founded by Melanie Streko (formerly of MeteorCity). It specializes in heavy underground sounds, leaning into stoner rock, stoner/doom metal, sludge, psychedelic and drone. Its own releases include records by bands like Akula, Horehound, Asthma Castle and Horseburner (its first signing), and the shop also stocks vinyl and merch from the broader heavy-rock world. It remains active.
