Gulcher Records is a pioneering DIY independent label (and former fanzine) born in Bloomington, Indiana in 1975, billing itself as 'a lineage of genuine American freaks.' It championed lo-fi punk and garage before the punk explosion, earning legend status with the first Gizmos EP, and its catalog spans early Midwest punk and outsider rock through more recent noise and underground acts. Notable releases include The Gizmos, Dow Jones and the Industrials, Magik Markers, Home Blitz, and Screamin' Mee-Mees. It remains active, selling its catalog through a Big Cartel storefront.
