Fonal Records
Tampere · Finland · FI
Fonal Records is a fiercely independent label founded in Tampere, Finland in 1995 by Sami Sanpakkila, operating in the spirit of a true DIY handbook. It has become a defining home for Finland's experimental underground, releasing a roster that wanders from psychedelic and semi-acoustic folk to ambient, dreamy pop, and outright avant-garde electronics. Artists like Lau Nau, Islaja, Paavoharju, and Kemialliset Ystavat anchor a catalog that feels hand-built and resolutely outside the mainstream.
