Fly Records is a British independent label established in June 1970 by music publisher David Platz, operating initially out of the Essex Music offices on Oxford Street in London. It made an immediate impact as the home of T. Rex, debuting with the hit single 'Ride a White Swan' and later issuing the UK number-one album Electric Warrior, alongside early releases from Vivian Stanshall, John Kongos and Third World War. After T. Rex departed and the original label wound down in 1972, Platz relaunched it as Cube Records. The Fly name has since been revived and is managed by David's son Simon Platz from the Bucks Music Group offices at the Roundhouse in Camden, London.
