Fever Records is a New York label founded by Bronx promoter and club owner Sal Abbatiello, an outgrowth of his Fever Enterprises (started 1976) and his legendary Disco Fever and Devil's Nest clubs. It became one of the defining homes of 1980s Latin freestyle and dance-pop, releasing records by The Cover Girls, Lisette Melendez, Lil Suzy, Nayobe and Cynthia, with distribution that ran through Sutra and later Russell Simmons's RAL/Def Jam. The operation remains active today as a concert-promotion and artist-booking entity, staging freestyle reunion events such as 'Freestyle Fever Thursdays' and large package concerts.
