Fashion Records is a pioneering British reggae label founded in summer 1980 by John MacGillivray and Chris Lane as a spin-off of MacGillivray's Dub Vendor record shop. One of the most successful UK reggae imprints, it ran its own studios (Clapham Junction, Forest Hill and later Jamaica) and spanned roots, lovers rock, ragga, dancehall and into jungle/UK garage, scoring both reggae chart-toppers and mainstream pop hits. The label ceased recording operations in 2000 and is effectively defunct; its catalogue was digitally relaunched via Believe Digital in 2012.
