Energy Rekords is a Swedish independent label formed in 1990 through the merger of three small Älmhult-based imprints (Front Music Production, Electronic Beat Association, and Energy), founded by Håkan Ehrnst, Krister Svensson and Per Fältenborg. Through the 1990s it became the leading Swedish alternative-electronic label, championing synth-pop, EBM, industrial and post-punk acts such as S.P.O.C.K, Daily Planet, Page and Elegant Machinery, and it spun off the Beat That! (indie pop/rock) and Cascade (techno/dance) sublabels in 1995. The label remains active from Älmhult with an ongoing catalog of remasters and reissues of classic Swedish and international underground acts.
