Domino Recording Company is one of the most prominent independent record labels in the world, founded in 1993 by Laurence Bell in Putney, South West London (now headquartered in Wandsworth). Starting as a champion of American lo-fi acts like Sebadoh and Will Oldham, it broke through commercially with Franz Ferdinand and Arctic Monkeys and now spans alternative and indie rock, electronic, experimental, and post-punk while deliberately resisting genre labels. The label is very active, with international offices in Brooklyn, Berlin and Paris and a catalog including Wet Leg, Hot Chip, Cat Power, Jon Hopkins and Beth Gibbons.
