Dead Reckoning Records is an artist-owned independent label founded in 1994 in Nashville, Tennessee by a circle of roots musicians who wanted to sidestep the mainstream country machine. Co-founders Kieran Kane and Kevin Welch were central to the early Americana movement, and the label put out their work alongside fellow founders Mike Henderson, Tammy Rogers, and Harry Stinson, who also toured together as a revue called the Dead Reckoners. Its catalog leans hard into Americana, alt-country, and acoustic roots music. The label is now largely dormant, with its founders' newer work flowing through the Kane/Gellert site, though the original catalog remains available.
