C/Z Records is a Seattle label established in early 1985 by Chris Hanzsek and Tina Casale, best known for the 1986 'Deep Six' compilation that captured the earliest recordings of Soundgarden, Melvins, Skin Yard, Malfunkshun, Green River and U-Men, effectively documenting the birth of grunge. Over the years it released material from acts like 7 Year Bitch, The Gits, Built to Spill, Hammerbox, Love Battery and Coffin Break. The label maintains an active site and online shop.
