City Slang is a long-running international independent record label founded in Berlin in 1990 by Christof Ellinghaus, originally a European outpost for American indie rock. Three-plus decades on it represents 60+ artists across indie rock, indie pop, electronic, experimental and alternative — including Caribou, Lambchop, The Notwist, José González, Calexico, Tindersticks, Broken Social Scene and Sylvan Esso — and remains active across physical and digital formats.
