Cavetone Records is a fiercely all-analog, vinyl-only independent label founded in 2008 by Scott Walus and Keri Cousins-Walus in Charleston, Illinois. Operating out of a tube-and-tape studio that shuns computers entirely, it records esoteric pop to open-reel tape, mixes to mono and presses to vinyl in the USA, championing what it calls 'dirty pop,' 'weird pop' and Midwest rock spanning garage, proto-punk, stoner rock and noise pop. The label also runs live showcases and a Charleston record store, and its roster centers on regional acts like psychedelic-blues duo The Ex-Bombers, space-pop project Bowling Alone and Chicago father/son duo Patir Filius.
