BLIGHT. Records (stylized with a period) is an independent experimental label founded in 2012 by Benjamin Schurr, originally rooted in Washington, D.C. and now based in Philadelphia. It releases boundary-blurring underground music spanning experimental/noise pop, post-industrial, ambient, electronic and avant-garde work, operating less like a traditional label and more like a creative collective where artists move between each other's projects and often explore identity, politics, gender and sexuality. Its roster includes SWOLL, Ruah, Stronger Sex, Luna Honey, nyxy nyx, Midwife and Phil Spector's Gun, plus collaborative compilations like 2016's BLIGHT. MAKES RIGHT. The label remains active, distributing primarily through Bandcamp.
