Arbutus Records is a Montreal-based independent label and artist-management company that grew out of the Lab Synthèse warehouse art space in the city's Mile End scene in the late 2000s. Built on a DIY, community-minded ethic, it leans toward leftfield indie, dream-pop, synth-pop and electronic sounds, and is known for long-term artist development. The roster has launched and housed Grimes, TOPS, Majical Cloudz, Braids and Sean Nicholas Savage. The label remains active and is based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
