3 Beat is a British dance-music institution from Liverpool, England, started in 1989 as a second-hand record stall in Quiggins that grew into a famed dance record shop and, from 1991, an independent label. Early on it released hardcore/house and trance acts like New Atlantic, Pianoman and D:Fuse; the modern label (now Liverpool-based and tied to Universal/EMI distribution) is a major outlet for commercial dance, drum & bass and pop-dance crossover acts including Sigma, High Contrast, Kungs and Jonasu.
