The National Foundation for Youth Music, a UK charity funding music-making for young people. For an individual artist the relevant one is the NextGen Fund — grants of up to £3,000 for 18–25-year-olds (up to 30 if they identify as d/Deaf, Disabled or Neurodivergent) who have never had funding before. Organisations and projects go to the Trailblazer and Catalyser funds instead. Everything runs in numbered rounds with published open dates, deadlines and notification dates.

WHO IS THE NEXTGEN FUND FOR? 18-25-year-olds or 18–30-year-olds (if someone identifies as d/Deaf, Disabled, or Neurodivergent). Those who have never received funding before. Those who face significant barriers to further their careers and make their ideas happen. Those who are in early career stages. While you may collaborate with others as part of your project, the grant recipient must be a single person, and the primary focus must be on supporting that individual's artistic growth and ideas.

NextGen Fund Round 14 - CLOSED. Round Opens: Friday 28 August 2026. Deadline: Friday 25 September 2026, 5pm. Notification: January 2027. Trailblazer Round 14 — Round Opens: 23 October 2026. Deadline: 20 November 2026, 5pm. Notification: 19 March 2027. For projects starting between: April and June 2027. We don't accept paper copies, you must submit your application using the form on online platform.
