What it funds
Who can apply — in their words
You must be a current SOCAN member. You must have received at least one royalty payment from SOCAN in each of the past two calendar years. If you are applying as part of a group, each member must submit their own application. Groups may receive up to $2,000 combined. You must upload a formal letter or email of invitation to attend the event or project activity. Applicants who receive more than $100 CAD individually in compensation for participating in the activity/travel are not eligible. Music publishers must represent works by at least four (4) SOCAN members.
Applying
This fund is open now and has no deadline.
Applications must be submitted before the activity start date. Late applications will be automatically rejected. This program has limited funding for distribution each year, that is divided into two pools. The program reserves the right to suspend applications should the demand exceed available funding. Applicants are therefore encouraged to apply early. Attachments such as tour posters, ticket receipts, or promotional materials will not be accepted and result in automatic rejection.
