An independent charity - it stresses that it is not PRS for Music, the collecting society - that calls itself the UK's leading charitable funder of new music and talent development. It backs music creators who write their own material through a set of named funds — the Open Fund for Music Creators, PPL Momentum Music Fund, Women Make Music, the International Showcase Fund, Hitmaker and The Composers' Fund — each with its own dated application rounds published on one deadlines page, plus separate streams for organisations and industry professionals.

PRS Foundation classes the following as music creators: Songwriters | Composers | Artists, bands, producers or performers who write their own music. We don't support performers who don't write their own music.

Applications are taken in dated rounds, not year-round — the dates below are the ones they publish.
All Upcoming Deadlines — all deadlines are 6:00pm unless otherwise stated. The Open Fund for Music Creators: Opens 25 February 2026 / Opens 17 August 2026, Next Deadline 18 March 2026 / Next Deadline 7 September 2026. PPL Momentum Music Fund: Opens 5 January / 13 April / 13 July / 28 September 2026, Next Deadline 2 February / 11 May / 10 August / 26 October 2026. Please note: We will be operating 2 x Open Fund for Music Creators deadlines in 2026. There will be one bumper Women Make Music deadline in the second half of 2026.
