Manhattan arts council on Maiden Lane that runs the Manhattan Arts Grants, regranting city and state arts money to Manhattan-based individual artists, collectives and small nonprofits. Creative Engagement funds public events in Manhattan (concerts and performances among them) during 2027, aimed at earlier-career artists and groups with smaller budgets who can't apply to those agencies directly; a new Creative Unrestricted program gives two years of general support to performing artists and groups with budgets under $250,000.

Funding is intended for artists and organizations that cannot apply directly to these agencies. In general, this includes earlier career artists, collectives, and recently established organizations; and those with smaller operating budgets or less administrative infrastructure to create, fundraise, and distribute their work.
