For individual musicians the most direct route is the Early Career Fund - up to $10,000 to create, present or distribute work, gain knowledge and new skills, or pay a mentor, with no track record required - alongside the International Engagement Fund and music scholarships.

Artists and practitioners of any age who are: at the early stage of their career and are New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents. You do not need a track record to apply. 'Early career artist' means an artist of any age who is in the early stages of their artistic career. They may or may not have formal training.
