August folk festival on the Planet Bluegrass ranch in Lyons, Colorado, now in its fourth decade. The Songwriter Showcase is open to anyone writing and performing original material who is not signed to a major label or publisher: ten finalists play two songs solo on the main stage, and the winner takes a Taylor guitar, cash and a slot on the following year's bill.
