Riddu Riđđu

Manndalen · NO

Riddu Riddu is an international Indigenous festival held every July in Manndalen, in Kafjord municipality in Norway's Nord-Troms county. Sea Sami youth started it in 1991 to turn shame about their heritage into pride, and it has held Norwegian national hub festival status since 2009, with five year-round staff and around 170 volunteers from all over the world during festival week. The 2026 edition ran 8 to 12 July and the bill reached far beyond Sapmi, including Pamyua, Tarrak, Kapiw & Apappo, Nasaa Ganbold, MC Millaray, DJ Eric Terena, Silla and Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 next to Sami artists such as Niillas Holmberg and Lavre. The whole thing is open air and built for families, with a children's festival, a youth camp, film, seminars, art, yurt concerts and tea ceremonies around the club stages, and free tent camping for audiences since there are no hotels in the valley. Booking is a standing email channel rather than a seasonal open call: send programme and booking enquiries to a booking address. The festival is explicit that every enquiry must include live videos and information about the Indigenous perspective behind the act, so this is not a general submission address for any artist.
