OFF Festival is Poland's most respected alternative festival, founded in 2006 by Artur Rojek of the band Myslovitz, who started it with his wife Anka in his home town of Myslowice before it moved to Katowice. Its identity is deliberate genre mixing and a bill weighted toward the leftfield rather than the charts, and Rojek still writes the festival's own history in the first person on its site. The useful detail for an artist is that the festival publishes a dedicated music address, separately from its general info line, so programme approaches have their own route.
