Mile of Music is a free, all-original music festival held each summer across downtown Appleton, Wisconsin, filling parks, bars, coffee shops, and restaurants with hundreds of performances. The 2026 edition, its 13th, runs July 30 to August 2 and books up-and-coming artists from Wisconsin and around the world playing original Americana, folk, indie, and roots-leaning sets. All performers are paid, and artists apply through the festival's online submission form during an open window each fall, with selections made over the following winter. Its focus stays on original songwriting rather than cover sets.
