Kongsberg Jazzfestival
Kongsberg · NO
Kongsberg Jazzfestival is one of Norway's oldest and most respected jazz festivals, held every summer in the old silver mining town southwest of Oslo. It mixes Nordic names with international bookings across the Kongsberg church, Energimolla, Christians kjeller and Kongsberg Musikkteater, and the 2026 program held Silje Nergaard, Nils Petter Molvaer performing KHMER, and Annie & The Caldwells. The festival also runs Barnivalen for younger audiences and a jazz film program. The 2026 edition ran 1 to 4 July and sold out a record number of concerts. Booking inquiries go to a booking address, though the festival is straightforward that the volume is high enough that not every inquiry gets a reply. The program committee is led by Lars Ljosland. Ragnhild Menes is still listed as festival director, but announced in June 2026 that she is handing over after the 2026 edition, and recruitment for a successor opened that July.
