FAMPOP - Feira Avareense da Música Popular
Avaré · BR
FAMPOP, the Feira Avareense da Música Popular, is a competitive songwriting festival run by the Secretaria Municipal de Cultura of Avaré in the interior of São Paulo state, with support from the APAA. Its 43rd edition runs 15 to 18 October 2026, with an Avaré-only preliminary on the 15th, two national heats on the 16th and 17th, and the final on the 18th. Lenine, Chico César, Jorge Vercillo, Bráulio Tavares and Moacyr Luz all competed here over the decades. Entry is free and open to composers anywhere in Brazil until 16 September 2026, up to three unreleased songs each, submitted through the form linked from fampop.art with an MP3, the lyrics, short bios and personal details for every composer and performer, plus the chord chart if the act wants the festival's house band. A screening committee picks 20 national songs, 18 with lyrics and 2 purely instrumental, alongside 6 from Avaré itself. First place takes R$18,000 plus three days recording at Estúdio Gargolândia in Alambari, with separate prizes for best instrumental, best interpreter, best lyric and popular acclaim. Songs written entirely by AI are barred, though AI used as a tool for creation, production or arrangement is allowed, and out-of-state finalists get R$1,400 toward costs. Questions go to a named address or WhatsApp on (14) 998776937.
