Celtic Connections is a winter music festival in Glasgow, held over the second half of January. Its Danny Kyle Open Stage, set up in 1999 as a platform for tomorrow's talent, gives emerging acts a 20-minute slot, and the six acts picked for a Danny Award get a showcase and often a support slot at the following year's festival.
